Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Pairwork (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website at getpair.work (the “Service”). Pairwork is operated by Arjunjit Bagri, based in British Columbia, Canada.

By using Pairwork, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Service.

1. Information we collect

We collect the following information when you use Pairwork:

  • Account information: Your email address, used to sign in via magic link. We may also store a display name, optionally derived from your email if not provided separately.
  • Project content: Project names, course codes, due dates, tasks, comments, citations, resource links, and member information you create or contribute within the Service.
  • Activity data: A log of actions taken in projects (e.g. tasks completed, comments posted) used to power features such as peer evaluation summaries.
  • Technical data: Standard server logs, including IP addresses, browser type, and access times. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers.

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service;
  • Authenticate you and protect your account;
  • Display project content to other members of projects you join;
  • Generate reports such as peer evaluation summaries you choose to export;
  • Send transactional emails such as magic sign-in links;
  • Diagnose problems and improve the Service.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data to train machine learning models. We do not show advertising in the Service.

3. Third-party service providers

Pairwork relies on the following third-party providers to operate. Each acts as a data processor on our behalf:

  • Supabase— database, authentication, and file storage. Data is hosted in their managed infrastructure.
  • Vercel— web hosting and content delivery for the Service.
  • Resend— transactional email delivery (magic sign-in links).
  • Namecheap— domain registration.

These providers may process limited data (such as email addresses or IP addresses) to deliver their services. They are bound by their own privacy policies and applicable data-protection laws.

4. Sharing within projects

Information you create or contribute to a project (tasks, comments, citations, resources) is visible to all members of that project. Activity data (e.g. who completed which task) is visible to project members and is included in peer evaluation exports.

Anyone with a valid invite link to a project can join that project. You should only share invite links with people you intend to grant access.

5. Data retention

We retain your account information and project content for as long as your account is active. If you delete a project, its associated tasks, comments, citations, resources, and activity records are also deleted.

You can request that we delete your entire account and associated data by emailing us at support@getpair.work.

6. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you;
  • Request correction of inaccurate information;
  • Request deletion of your data;
  • Withdraw consent or object to certain processing.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@getpair.work. We aim to respond within 30 days.

If you are in Canada, you have rights under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial laws. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR.

7. Security

We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest, and database-level access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in email secure and for the people you invite to your projects.

8. Children

Pairwork is intended for users aged 16 or older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has provided us with information, please contact support@getpair.work and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
